Butlers Wharf

Butlers Wharf is a self-catering residence of 46 purpose designed flats. Each flat is self-contained, centrally heated and incorporates a large shared kitchen, living room/diner, bathroom, shower and toilet facilities.

There are 257 places in single study bedrooms, 21 places in twin rooms and one double room for a couple.

The majority of the flats are shared by six people. All rooms contain wash-basins.

(50 weeks contract and postgraduates only for 2012/13) 


Butlers Wharf exterior of the buildingThe residence forms part of the large Butlers Wharf development on the South Bank of the Thames, situated near Tower Bridge, and is within 25 minutes travelling time (by London Underground) of the School.

Cooking facilities

Butlers Wharf kitchen areaEach kitchen contains a fridge/freezer, oven/grill microwave and four ring hobs, plus an electric kettle and toaster.


Students are expected to provide their own pots, pans, cutlery and crockery. There is a general store and other food outlets within two minutes walk of the building as well as vending machines on site.

Facilities

There is also an coin-operated laundry, and an iron and ironing board are provided in each flat. Cleaning and bed linen

Butlers Wharf student in his roomThe general cleanliness of the room and communal areas in each flat are the responsibility of the student residents.
All bed linen and towels must be provided and laundered by the students, although the residence does supply a pillow, duvet and mattress cover. 

 

Vacation periods

Student residents at Butlers Wharf for the academic year 2012/13 will have a 50 week contract which covers the Christmas, Easter and Summer vacations (contract ends on September 8th, extensions may be arranged with the hall after arrival).

  • Full Session (50 weeks) 2012/13 rents
  • Single - £116.20 to £123.20 per week
  • Twin - £86.10 per week
  • Double room - £170.80
  • Common Room Fee - £10 per term
