The LSE Accommodation Office allocates just under 4000 places across 21 sites in the centre of London. We own and manage 8 halls exclusively for LSE students, we have special allocations in 5 privately run residences and links to 8 Intercollegiate halls. This gives you unique access to a broad variety of rooms which suit different preferences, needs and budgets.
-
A mixture of students is living in each residence: home and overseas; men and women; and in some residences a mixture of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
-
Further information about the individual halls is available via the left hand side menu. Our LSE halls also link through to information for current residents, to provide you with an 'inside view' of what life at the hall is like.

New properties
Demand for hall accommodation is high, so for the 2012/13 academic year we have allocated spaces in two brand new locations: Wellington Lodge and Tower Hill are opening in summer 2012.
If you are a postgraduate student and are interested in living at these halls, you should make your application for accommodation as normal through hallpad to take advantage of discounted rates.
Allocation of rooms
-
We are able to offer accommodation to all first year undergraduate students and General Course students in either LSE or intercollegiate residences, provided the application was received by the deadline. We cannot guarantee that your offer will be for your preferred residence or in a single room.
-
Approximately 20% of first year undergraduates are accommodated in intercollegiate halls.
-
The intercollegiate residences and most privately owned and managed halls accommodate students from various colleges, so you will meet a great diversity of students.
-
Undergraduate and General Course students from within London should apply for halls if they require a place. In times of peak demand, we cannot guarantee making an offer before term starts, but we would expect the last few students to be accommodated by the second week of term.
-
LSE accommodation is allocated on a random basis within quotas set out for each hall. For more information, see: Allocation policy and Quotas.
-
In certain circumstances, consideration is given to assigning accommodation outside of the usual random process to ensure specific needs are met.Visit: Information on priority applications
