Applying for summer accommodation
Sidney Webb House| is open to individual students (at student rates) during the summer vacation. Arrivals will usually be taken from 4:00pm on Saturday 2nd July. The latest possible departure date is by 10:00am on Thursday 22nd September.
We have extremely limited accommodation for couples and families; if you wish to apply for accommodation with your partner and/or child, please contact us directly at accommodation@lse.ac.uk.
Applicants willing to stay in London for an over 8-week period starting on 2nd July and who have an academic reason for staying will be given priority. Applications for shorter stays will be considered only if spaces are available and are normally at a higher rate.
Please note that residents should have paid their Hall fees in full for the current year before checking in for the Summer Vacation on 2nd July.
Students who have failed to clear their debts will be refused access to their rooms regardless of having made a booking or not.

Student rate: up to £130.90 pw, £18.70 per night (doubles up to £159.60 pw)
Discount rate: £161.00 pw, £23.00 per night (doubles up to £210.00 pw)
Standard rate: £217.00 pw, £31.00 per night (doubles up to £252.00 pw)
Student rate
Students who wish to stay for more than 8 weeks from 2nd July (priority will be given to this category).
Discount rate
Bookings for between four and eight weeks from 2nd July. These applications will be considered only if spaces are available.
Students requiring short-term accommodation after 13th August will be charged at the discount rate, subject to a minimum stay of one week.
Standard rate
Bookings of less than four weeks between 2nd July and 13th August. These applications will be considered only if spaces are available. Students can also book accommodation in any residence (subject to availability) through our Vacations Office| with a 10% discount over the published prices.
Prepayment / Rent
A prepayment of £250 is required to confirm a place in residences. This will be deducted from your total bill on payment. Successful applicants will be held responsible for rent for the entire period booked, regardless of early departure. Students will not be allowed to sub-let their rooms.
Rent is payable for the period of the vacation stay in advance. The rate applicable will correspond to your original booking. If you extend your booking to a length of 8 weeks or more you will be invoiced at the cheaper rate only for the additional nights. The charges for the first part of the booking will not change. Retrospective lower rates will not be given for extended original bookings.
Facilities for instalment payments are not normally available.
Cancellations / Refunds
You should send your cancellation notice to the Accommodation Office| directly as soon as possible. We will only make refunds of prepayments if we receive notice of cancellation in writing before 12th June 2011 regardless of the start or end date of your booking. After this you will be expected to pay for the entire period booked. There are strictly no refunds for early departures.
Offers
Details of offers will be sent by e-mail throughout the spring. We usually expect a reply from you within 5 calendar days. If you are intending to be away during this period, please make sure that somebody replies on your behalf.

Applicants for more than 8 weeks will be contacted with decisions within four weeks of application.

Applicants for between four and 8 weeks from the 2nd July will be contacted by 1st June.

Applicants for short term will be contacted from the 3rd of May.
If we do not hear from you, we shall assume that you do not require the accommodation offered.
You will be sent a receipt automatically upon completing the application form in Hallpad|. You will then be able to track the status of your application in Hallpad at any stage of the process.
