An integral part of the programme are the two overseas modules which are designed to highlight topical global business issues and provide students with the opportunity to experience prominent speakers and experts from international institutions and companies.
Current overseas locations are listed below - please note these are subject to change:
Istanbul, Turkey - Emerging Markets
A combination of macroeconomic strategy, prudent fiscal policies and major structural reforms has integrated the Turkish economy into the globalized world and transformed the country into one of the major recipients of foreign direct investment in its region. Unique in its position as a city that straddles the cultures of East and West; Istanbul is a fascinating case study location and gives students the opportunity to immerse themselves in one of the world's leading emerging markets.
Singapore - The Asia Miracle
Boasting one of the most open and competitive markets in the world, Singapore is an ideal location to experience the full extent of the Asia Miracle. Combining company visits and guest speakers will allow students to fully explore why Singapore's economic system has become one of the most successful in Asia. This module is also part of the LSE's wider strategy to leverage its ties to this rapidly developing region. The LSE's Asia Forum, which began in 2004 (http://www2.lse.ac.uk/LSEAsiaForum/Home.aspx|) with events in Thailand, Hong Kong, Delhi and Beijing was also held in Singapore in 2008.
