Research Interests
Subject areas: Human Resource Management, Innovative Work practices, High Performance Work Systems, Employee Participation in Organizations, Occupational Health.
Her current research aims to understand the impact of innovative work practices (i.e. high performance work systems) on organizational performance, considering work intensification and occupational health as relevant mediating variables. Drawing primarily on the resource based view of the firm, her work examines the role of certain HRM practices in fostering employee productivity. In particular she analyzes whether this relationship involves work intensification.
Canibano’s doctoral project is framed in a context wherein firms depend on the workforces’ knowledge and abilities in order to generate competitive advantage. Particularly focused on highly educated and skilled employees in three major services sector companies in Spain, her research examines the complex relationships existing between organizational practices, employee engagement, work intensification, occupational health and performance.
