Anastasia Kouvela

PhD student in Management Science

Biography

Anastasia is currently a PhD student at the London School of Economics (LSE) in the Management Science group and her research focuses on combining disparate existing methods for proving infeasibility of large scale 0-1 Integer Programs. She holds an MSc in Operational Research from LSE and a BSc in Industrial Management and Technology from the University of Piraeus in Athens. Her motivation for commencing a PhD was the topic of her master's thesis on exploring the effect of odd hole inequalities on the infeasible orthogonal latin squares problem of order 6. During her undergraduate studies she specialised in management of natural resources and was part of a laboratory research project aimed at exploring processes for controlling the impact of industrial waste on the environment.

Before pursuing her MSc Anastasia worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and ever since has been involved in various projects providing bespoke computer programmes to businesses for optimisation and data analysis purposes.
