Biography
In 2008, I graduated from Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Turkey), Industrial Engineering Department. Graduating with 2nd rank, I started my career path as a research assistant at the same department and got an M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering in Spring 2010. Meanwhile, I worked as a teaching assistant for various undergraduate courses such as Economic Models for Decision and Policy Analysis, Management for Engineers, Engineering Statistics II, Operational Research I, Decision Analysis, and Simulation. During these two years, my research was supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey.
My master's thesis was on designing solution algorithms for a special type of assignment problem, the Multi Resource Agent Bottleneck Generalized Assignment Problem. It was motivated by a practical application faced in a nationally recognised firm in the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) sector in Turkey. I designed an optimization algorithm (Branch-and-Bound) and two approximation algorithms for the problem.
Currently, I am a doctoral student in the Management Science Group of the Department and I hold a full LSE PhD scholarship. I work with Dr Alec Morton on research areas such as Multicriteria Optimization, Multicriteria Sorting and Inequality Measurement.
