Samer Abdelnour
PhD Candidate in Management
Biography
My thesis examines the global-local dynamics of postwar interventions for reintegrating former combatants in Sudan, through the lenses of organisational institutionalism and globalisation.
My research crosses a number of broad fields including social enterprise, organisational theory, globalisation and political sociology. Contextually, I have been conducting field research on fuel-efficient stoves and the humanitarian response in Darfur, post-war reintegration of ex-combatants in the Blue Nile, and collective enterprise approaches for marginalised peoples under conflict and discrimination in Darfur. In addition, I am currently engaging with a project to explore enterprise education in Southern Sudan.
I have taught in the LSE summer school in London, the LSE-PKU summer school in Beijing, and at the Rotterdam School of Management.
I am a member of the Innovation Co-Creation Lab| and LSE Conflict Research Group|, and an affiliate of the Centre for Refugee Studies at York University|. My formal education consists of an undergraduate degree in Management and Economics from the University of Toronto, and a Master in Environmental Studies from York University.
