Taha Afshar

PhD student in Employment Relations & Organisational Behaviour

Biography

Taha completed his undergraduate degree in Economics at University College London in 2005, where he came top of his class in the Economics of Growth and Economics of the Public Sector. He moved on to study his Masters in Management at the LSE, where he went to Duke University as part of an exchange with the Fuqua School of Business.

Upon finishing his masters in 2006, he worked as an Associate Consultant at L.E.K., a strategy consultancy, where he worked on over 11 cases across 4 industries. Prior to L.E.K., Taha has worked for Credit Suisse and the consultancy arm of Euromonitor, a market research firm.

At the LSE, Taha has acted as President of the Corporate Social Responsibility society. He is also part of the Business Model Innovation research module of the Innovation and Co-Creation Research Lab (ICCL). In January 2011, he was invited to talk about the prospect of a single world currency at the "New World, New Capitalism" conference in Paris to a panel including Joseph Stiglitz, Christine Lagarde, the President of Financial Services Authority (FSA) amongst others to an audience of Prime Ministers, journalists and c. 500 participants.

Subject areas: Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Reputation, Corporate Communication, Corporate Philanthropy and the 2008 economic crisis, Leadership and Corporate philanthropy.
