Rebecca MacKinnon, journalist, co-founder of Global Voices and an open Interent Campaigner, will be speaking on February 28th about her recently published book which proposes an agenda for internet freedom. The talk will be held at 1pm in Clement House, Room 302.

Polis LSE Literary Festival Event 

Journalists Heather Brooke and Nick Cohen will be joined by Polis director, Charlie Beckett, on the 29th of February, in a talk entitled 'Censorship in an Age of Freedom'. It will take place in the Wolfson Theatre, New Academic Building, at 6.30pm. This talk is being held in conjunction with the LSE Literary Festival which runs from the 29th February to the 3rd of March.

Zeina Awad

 Reporting America for Al Jazeera

On March 8th Zeina Awad, correspondent for Al Jazeera's Fault Lines programme, will discuss her work covering the rise of the Christian far right, the Occupy Wall Street movement and the globalization of pharmaceutical companies. To attend the event please email polis@lse.ac.uk|

Soft Power, Nation Branding and China

On March 13th, come see Professor (Jian) Jay Wang discuss public diplomacy in China.

Wang  is an associate professor at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and a fellow at the USC Center on Public Diplomacy. His latest book is entitled "Soft Power in China: Public Diplomacy through Communication."
