Research Topic: "Photographing Myself into Being": Structure, Agency, and Identity in Taiwanese Adolescent Girls' Self-representation Online
My thesis focuses on young people's engagement with online activities, specifically looking at the role of digital content-creation (online photographic self-portrait) in young people's identity work. The ultimate research goal seeks to understand how young girls make sense of their lives via self-portrait on social networking site, and identify the opportunities and risks involved for the reference of (new) media literacy education in Taiwan.
