Emirates PhD Support for Middle East Studies Award
The centre runs an award providing support for PhD research at LSE on Middle East topics. This includes: encouraging LSE advanced students to complete PhD dissertations on the region; assisting LSE to recruit top-level students with the prospect of dissertation financial support; providing support for Emirati nationals who are LSE students writing dissertations; and increasing research by Arab nationals on Middle East topics.

These awards, based on need and merit, provide support for students who are in the final stages of their doctoral degree. Eligibility is restricted to students who will submit a thesis within the relevant academic year on any Middle East or Arab League member state and in any discipline.
The award is supported by the Emirates Foundation for Philanthropy.
