New LSE research on Oyster Cards and other applications of near field communication
technologies shows how the economics and acceptability of mobile transaction systems impact business and governance practices. But some critical questions need to be considered sooner rather than later.
Gus Hosein is visiting senior fellow in the Information Systems and Innovation Group in
LSE's Department of Management.
Mark Selby is vice president of Industry Collaborations at the Nokia Corporation.
Jonathan Liebenau is a reader in technology management in the Department of Management and author of Banking on Innovation: modernisation of payment systems.
