Dr Green is primarily concerned with the interaction of ethnicity, nationalism and politics in Africa. In particular he is interested in the causes and consequences of ethnic diversity, the relationship between nationalism and economic development and the political economy of rural patronage in Africa. His primary field work has been carried out in Uganda.
