Professor Preston has been engaged for several years on a huge project on violence in Spain from 1931 to 1943. It involves investigation into both zones during the Spanish Civil War and the repressive policies of the first years of the Franco dictatorship. It will be published in the UK by HarperCollins and in the USA by Norton. The subject ties into the heated polemics in Spain over the Law of Historical Memory.
