I am interested in all aspects of post-war US foreign policy, with specific expertise in US policy in Iran. My work examines the policy-making process with reference to geo-political concerns but also ideology, political culture and collective memory. I am particularly interested in the political and strategic dynamics of economic sanctions. In addition to publishing work on US-Iranian relations during the Carter administration, I have written on contemporary Iranian affairs for The Guardian and appeared as an analyst on BBC News and Al Jazeera.
