Rebecca Newton's research interests are in the leadership of change in organisations, including co-leadership; the impact of change leadership on employees' work-based identity; resistance; and how leaders facilitate aligned global corporate culture. She joined the Department of Management as a Visiting Fellow in 2008, where she lectures in Leadership and Professional Development. Prior to this she was a Visiting Fellow at Harvard University and in the Institute of Social Psychology at LSE.
Since 1999, Rebecca has been a coach, advisor and educator to multinationals, public organisations and PSFs in leadership development, change management and culture transformation. She has advised and trained hundreds of business leaders and teams from organisations such as Ericsson, Microsoft, London Crossrail, Bank of America Corporation, BG Group, Arcelor Mittal, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development (Dubai) and many professional services firms. Rebecca is a member of the Duke Corporate Education's Global Learning Resource Network, a Registered Psychologist with the NSW Psychologists’ Registration Board of Australia and a member of the Journal of Change Management Editorial Board.
Rebecca has a PhD in Psychology (Organisational Change) and MSc with distinction in Social and Organisational Psychology from LSE, and a BA from the University of Sydney.
