Research summary > [Click to expand]

My PhD in social psychology examined the hypothesis of cognitive polyphasia, proposed by Serge Moscovici nearly 50 years ago, in the context of the controversy that surrounded the MMR vaccine in the UK.

My research produced a number of interesting results, both theoretically and empirically, that I would like to explore further and to apply to various areas besides health-related ones. On a more applied front, and making use of my 15 years of experience in the corporate world, I am also keen to examine issues linked to companies' corporate identity, organisational culture and internal communication policies. I would also like to explore ways to translate the theory of social representations into a number of practical tools that could be used outside its traditional remit.

On a more personal front, I recently became a trustee of the Association for Research into Stammering in Childhood, which is based in London. The Association conducts various research projects assessing the impact of the therapeutic treatments they offer. I have started to discuss with them how a social psychological perspective could contribute to the success of their approach and produce a better understanding of the impact stammering have on these children.
