Dr Lawson's theoretical work revolves around the synergies between historical sociology and international relations. He is the convenor of the BISA funded working group on Historical Sociology and IR (www.historical-sociology.org). Dr Lawson's empirical research focuses on processes of radical change including revolutions and democratisation.
