Raphael Wittenberg leads the PSSRU programme of research on the financing of long-term care for older people. The programme aims to make projections of demand for long-term care for older people and associated expenditure to 2041. Within the programme, he has looked at arrangements for financing long-term care in the UK and other countries. Raphael Wittenberg is also an economic adviser at the Department of Health (DH) for England. He has worked at the DH on the economics of services for older people, community care services, health outcome measurement and burdens of disease. He has also worked at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) on the economics of pensions and long-term care.
