Siva has a research interest in the intellectual property protection of biotechnological inventions, bioethics, and comparative patent law. She has written on the effect of patents on innovation and is particularly interested in the institutional structure of the patent system and its effect on the quality of legal doctrine. Siva also holds a LSE Asia Strategy SEED Fund grant to build research networks.

Short bio >

Siva joined LSE in 2004 from University College London as lecturer in intellectual property law. She holds a BA; LLB (Hons) degree from the National Law School of India University (Bangalore), a Two year BCL from the University of Oxford (funded by a Felix Award) and a DPhil (funded by a Wellcome Trust Prize Studentship). Siva teaches Patent Law at graduate and undergraduate levels.
