I'm a demographer with a statistical background who has been at the LSE for the last five years. Previously I have worked for the Institute of Education and the United Nations Statistics Division. I am particularly interested in reproductive maternal health and health systems in low-income countries. Some of the past work I have done include the role of social networks and community factors affecting family planning choices and overmedicalisation of births.
I am currently working on projects that analyse the effect of health systems reforms on health inequalities in Brazil and India and on the demand vs. supply influence on the increasing caesarean sections' rates. I am also interested in the use of demographic data sources in low resource countries such as census and survey data.
