Dr Glendinning's main interests lie in the philosophy of Europe and in European philosophy. His most recent work has been on the phenomenological movement in Europe and its relation to phenomenological philosophy from the English-speaking world.

He is a specialist in phenomenology and deconstruction as well as Wittgenstein and ordinary language philosophy. An important aspect of his work is its focus on our understanding of the difference between human beings and other animals.
