The Centre for Analysis of Risk and Regulation (CARR) is a major interdisciplinary research group based at LSE.
1- CARR was an ESRC research centre for ten years until 2010. It will continue to operate as a hub for a wide range of different projects and activities.
Our work is dedicated to the analysis of risk management and regulatory practices in a variety of national and transnational institutional settings, and is organized around three broad areas of enquiry:
-
operational risk and resilience;
-
risk governance;
-
regulation and markets.
2- CARR's analytical emphasis in each of these areas is to understand and explain: variations in the organization of risk management and regulation ; pressures for change in policy and practice; and the consequences of regulation and risk management
3- CARR staff also work closely with, and advise, government policy-makers, regulators and business practitioners.
4- CARR is an international reference point and centre of excellence for the study of risk and regulation.
