Welcome to the Department of Social Policy!
If you are refering to this page, you have most likely received a formal offer to study a programme within the Department, which we hope you will accept. If your offer is conditional we wish you well in meeting the required condition(s).
Further details about your offer can be viewed on the undergraduate| and graduate| 'information for offer holders' web pages.
You should also refer to the Student Services Centre Orientation| and New Arrivals| web pages for all of the information that you will need to help you settle in at LSE during the first few weeks.
Department orientation timetable
Please take a moment to look at the Department orientation timetable|, which provides a schedule of the School, Department and programme meetings that you should attend, as well as the date/time you will need to register for your programme of study.
It is extremely important for you to attend your programme induction meeting. If you are unable to attend, you should inform the programme administrator as soon as possible.
Similarly, you should aim to register on the given date as late registration will result in late access to School resources such as the library and computer systems.
Professor Tim Newburn, Head of the Department of Social Policy, hopes that you will join him at the Department orientation meeting. He will be introducing members of the various support services in the School (e.g. Library, Careers Service, IT Services) who can assist you in your studies.
Programme welcome information
Over the Summer period you will receive correspondence from your programme director/administrator, which will contain information about your programme orientation meeting along with other resources such as preliminary reading lists.
The programme administrators for each programme are listed below, along with PDF copies of welcome letters as they are being issued.
