Following the successful opening of the New Academic Building, the Estates Division is starting on the next phase of LSE's campus development with the redevelopment of St Philips. Housing the Students' Union, the site will become a student hub at the heart of LSE's campus. LSE's aim is to improve the student experience at the School by creating the best student building in the world.

Exhibition of designs
In March this year a competition was launched to find an architect to design a new Students' Centre the six competition designs are all now being exhibited at The Building Centre in Store Street. The exhibition will run until Wednesday 28 October. For full exhibition details click here |
Winning design for LSE's new Students' Centre announced
Dublin based practice O'Donnell & Tuomey Architects have been chosen as the winners of the competition to design LSE's new Students' Centre.
The practice was selected from a shortlist which included five other leading practices: Allford Hall Monaghan Morris; David Chipperfield Architects; de Rijke Marsh Morgan; Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios and Copenhagen based architects 3XN A/S.
Howard Davies, Director of LSE and chair of the jury panel that selected the winning design said: 'We really do appreciate the huge amount of creative energy each of the teams put into this competition. However there can only be one winner and the selection of O'Donnell & Tuomey was the unanimous decision of the jury panel.'
