Having graduated from the Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich in Theatre, German Literature, and Philosophy, Florian already pursued a rather diverse path that he plans to continue at the interface of private and public sector - either as a consultant or in full responsibility for shaping the further modernization of an institution.

Aarohi Vashishtha

Aarohi Vashishtha
Aarohi was an MPA Public and Economic Policy student at the LSE and gradudated from the MPA in 2010 after working for more than three years in the financial sector in India. Changing career path was a very important decision for him but he was at an interesting cross-road where he could have continued doing what he was doing or be a part of something more exigent but meaningful. He chose the latter and wanted to explore new development models which give equal weight to the progress of economy, society (including the socially excluded) & environment. Aarohi was looking for a place which would help him understand these intertwined forces as they cannot be treated separately and he found that at LSE. MPA at LSE is one program that truly combines the two disciplines - political science and economics. He believes LSE is definitely trying to bring the 'science' back in the 'social sciences' and is truly international. The courses offered as part of the program are very specific to his area of interest - Economics & Development. They fall clearly in line with his long term goals. Aarohi is the President of the MPA Policy Forum and works closely with the student community, the administration and the academia. In the summer, Aarohi worked for one of biggest players in the oil and natural gas sector on their energy policy in Central Asia. As a part of the course curriculum, Aarohi is working with the UK Department of Energy and Climate change for his capstone project. He thinks 'energy space' is an area to watch out for.
