Upon my graduation from the LSE, I was accepted to the Young Professionals Program of the Islamic Development Bank, a multilateral development financing institution with a triple-A credit rating, located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Young Professionals Program is designed to attract outstanding young individuals from around the world, who have demonstrated academic excellence combined with a commitment to development, professional achievement and the potential for leadership.

After graduating from LSE I went back to China and got my first job in the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an international humanitarian organization. I am currently working in its East Asia Delegation in Beijing as a translator/assistant.

After my graduation, I did a research project for a social enterprise for disabled children. I'm now a sales and marketing executive responsible for rights and finished programmes sale to Asia, based in London.

Current Position: Marketing Manager
Before starting my career in Marketing, I spent a year in Human Resources Management. I know I have an outgoing personality with strong creative thinking. Thus, I decided to try something which requires more human interaction. I worked in-house for a luxury fashion brand before moving to a hotel and have gained exposure in Public Relations, Events, Advertising and e-Commerce. Now, I work as a Marketing Manager in a SME producing and sourcing corporate and promotional gifts because I want to keep exploring Marketing.

Current Position: International Syndicator
As an international businessman I put together deals across the Pacific, keeping strong ties in Asia as well as in North America, being an activist in California and in Asia. I started working for a securities in Hong Kong after I graduated from LSE, gaining investment experiences in California real estate, first with an agency and later with a developer and contractor. Now I use my experiences and contacts to put small to medium size deals together, a market missed by major investment bankers.

Current Position: Research and Acquisitions
After graduating from LSE I moved to New York to join a private equity real estate opportunity fund. After two years in New York, I transferred to Hong Kong to help start the office and the direct investment efforts in Mainland China. Since moving to Hong Kong, my responsibilities are best summed up as leading and coordinating due diligence efforts by organizing third party consultants, developing underwriting assumptions and preparing market analysis for potential acquisitions and existing assets in Greater China.

I have secured an offer from KPMG Hong Kong and will start in the Audit Department. Although I would like to live in the UK in the long run, I am not afraid of starting my career somewhere else because having an LSE degree is like having an international passport; its global recognition will enable me to transition to other countries easily, be it in one year or in 10 years time.

When I studied Economics at the University of Tokyo, I worked as a research assistant at the Bank of Japan. After that, I worked for the Ministry of Finance/Cabinet Office, where I formulated economic outlook as an economist. From these experiences, I can say that the MSc Economics is very well structured and offers what any economist must be equipped with. Now I am studying the MSc Statistics at LSE. This programme teaches various advanced statistical techniques of practical use often applied in Economics/Finance. After this master's I will return to Japan to work again for the Ministry of Finance.

Current Position: Clinical Psychologist, Search Assessment Manager, Korn/Ferry International
Based in the firm's Shanghai office, I am responsible for administering and interpreting Korn/Ferry's proprietary Search Assessment tool, as well as developing job and culture profiles used to benchmark candidates. I have also served as project leader for the ASO Group, a business group established over one hundred and thirty years ago in Japan. There, I led a mental health services company that served diverse clients ranging from high-tech companies, educational organisations and medical hospitals. I have also conducted marketing and public relations campaigns for several internet companies based in Taiwan.
