2013 Programme: 24 - 28 June and 1 - 5 July

The Executive Summer School offers a distinctive programme of executive education courses, designed for professionals who are looking for rigorous, challenging and in–depth courses.

LSE – Founded with the purpose of academic engagement with real world issues and staffed by leading academics, it enjoys a reputation as one of the top social science institutions in the world. The School has 25 years’ experience of open enrolment short courses, providing students and professionals with insights into cutting edge research relevant to their studies and work.

A Unique Programme – Our programme includes a wide range of management and finance courses, but also features more specialist areas such as climate change and behavioural economics.   Courses are taught by experts who lead their fields, and augmented by practitioners drawn from industry and business.

An Excellent Learning Environment – Class sizes are small and participants are drawn from culturally and commercially diverse backgrounds. Courses are run in June and July so that we can focus the School’s resources, in order to support and create a wider community in which participants can absorb knowledge and exchange ideas.

World Class Participants – Our reputation for innovative and intellectually challenging courses is the reason why talented executives from a diverse range of organisations attend the Executive Summer School Courses each year.

Craig Calhoun Directors Welcome

Prof Craig Calhoun

Since its foundation in 1895, the LSE has developed a reputation as the leading specialist social science institution in the world.

The School is committed to providing academic engagement with real world issues across its core teaching and research activities.

Our faculty are leaders in their fields. They are actively involved in policy issues, interacting constantly with governments around the world, with international organisations, and with business leaders. The LSE is no ‘ivory tower’. It is a place where the boundaries between academic thought and real world action break down.

Our Executive Education programmes represent a critical platform in our landscape for both debate on and delivery of leading-edge thinking in every discipline. We are fully committed to the idea that what our students - not least those in the Executive Summer School, seasoned and experienced each in their own field - bring to us is as important as what we seek to impart.

We look forward to welcoming you to the School.

Craig Calhoun
LSE Director
