Executive Summer School

Applications for our expanded 2012 programme are now open.

LSE Summer School

Celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year, it is one of the largest university summer schools in Europe. The Summer School programme offers over 60 intensively taught top-level three-week courses, in Accounting, Finance, Law, Economics, Management and International Relations.

Based on regular undergraduate courses taught at LSE and instructed by leading international faculty. The programme provides a unique learning experience and is the perfect enhancement to a degree or professional development.

LSE-PKU Summer School, Beijing

LSE and Peking University have collaboratively run the LSE-PKU Summer School in Beijing every summer since 2004. The two-week English-language international Summer School offers university-level courses in subjects including economics, management, international relations, media and law, all with a focus on China and Asia. The programme is taught by outstanding faculty from Peking University and LSE.

The programme attracts students and professionals from around the world, over 346 students from 49 nationalities in 2011. More than a quarter of participants are graduate professionals and the students who attended in 2011 came from over 165 higher education institutions.

Methods Summer Programme

We are delighted to announce the launch of the new Methods Summer Programme in August 2012. The programme is designed to provide postgraduate students and professionals with the quantitative and qualitative methods needed to enhance their research.

In 2012 we will be offering courses in three key areas of social science research methods: Survey Methods, Linear Regression Analysis and Qualitative Research Methods.

Summer Languages

Launched in Summer 2011 our Summer Language Programme is a range of short but sweet, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish courses.

The 2012 programme has two sessions:

  • Monday 2 July - Friday 20 July 2012
  • Monday 23 July - Friday 10 August 2012

Most courses consist of:

  • 12 hours of classes
  • Three (2 hour) classes per week for two consecutive weeks

These courses will give someone who has no knowledge of a language an introduction and some survival level skills.
