Introduction
Pathways to Law has been running successfully at the University of Edinburgh since 2001. Thanks to generous funding from The College of Law and The Sutton Trust, it is now a national programme running at seven universities around the country. LSE will be running the project for students in the London region.
About the project
Pathways to Law aims to give students and their families the information, advice and guidance they need to succeed in a career in law. Students join the programme in Year 12 and carry on until the end of Year 13. Over the course of the programme they will be invited to law taster sessions, careers information events, university advice sessions and mock trials. Pathways to Law students will also get the opportunity to go on a law work shadowing (during a half term break) and will be given a law mentor to answer any queries they may have. The programme also includes a parents' information session, application advice sessions and access to university open days.
