LSE Cities Launch Apprenticeship in City Design

Supported by Quintain, LSE Cities and the LSE Department of Sociology, the Apprenticeship Programme is a collaboration between the Brent Youth Parliament and the Blueprint Collective, a network of young people aged 18-25 closely involved with Brent 2020, the London Borough of Culture.

The LSE Cities Apprenticeship Programme in City Design is engaging six young adults from the London Borough of Brent to learn through practice at the LSE. They will be trained to apply various methodologies to understand and imagine the future of new public spaces in the Wembley Park development in Brent.

Uniquely for a research project, the work of the apprentices will influence the design development of numerous public space projects that will be realised by Quintain on the Wembley Park site from 2021 onwards.

Led by LSE Cities' Julia King, the project aims to improve the sense of ownership of public spaces by young adults in Brent and deepen LSE's connections with key stakeholders in London.
