Immense amounts of data are available from the field of health and social care, but how can we ensure that they are used effectively and appropriately to support practical decisions at all scales without compromising the privacy and interests of individuals?
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen rapid innovations in data science but also the potential for miscommunication, misunderstanding and abuse of data.
Our research theme is centred around supporting the socially beneficial use of data in the healthcare context.

I am involved in two projects. The first is in stochastic modelling of the COVID-19 pandemic and evaluation of public healthpolicies across different countries. The second is on benefit-risk analysis for drug evaluation, using Bayesian inference and latent variable modelling.
