Lars-Erik Cederman will address the link between nationalism and conflict in relation to the Ukraine war. 

Meet our speakers and chair

Lars-Erik Cederman is Professor of International Conflict Research at ETH Zurich. He is an expert on ethnic inequality and conflict, state formation and nationalism. He is the co-author of Power Sharing Securing Peace? (with Simon Hug and Julian Wucherpfennig).

Anna Getmansky (@anna_getmansky) is Associate Professor of International Relations in the Department of International Relations at LSE. The main focus of Dr Getmansky's research is understanding  the sources, management, and consequences of intrastate and interstate conflicts. In particular, she is interested in the relationship between domestic political institutions and conflict. 

Denisa Kostovicova is Associate Professor of Global Politics at LSE's European Institute, LSE & Co-chair of Conflict, Justice, and Peace. She is a scholar of post-conflict reconstruction with a particular interest in post-conflict justice processes. She is the author of Kosovo: The Politics of Identity and Space and Reconciliation by Stealth: How People Talk about War Crimes, and co-editor of a number edited volumes.

This is the inaugural lecture of the Conflict, Justice, and Peace platform that brings together scholars across LSE and showcases research on conflict, justice, and peace processes to the public.

Conflict, Justice, and Peace (@lsecjp) platform presents the community of scholars across LSE’s departments, institutes, centres and units who study various aspects of conflict and peace processes. 

The European Institute (@LSEEI) is a centre for research and graduate teaching on the processes of integration and fragmentation within Europe.
