About me

Nicos Christodoulakis is Emeritus Professor of Economic Analysis at Athens University of Economics and Business. He has held visiting professorships at CERGE (Charles University, Prague), the University of Cyprus and the Technical University of Crete and was Research Fellow at the Hellenic Observatory, CEPR London, Tinbergen Institute (Amsterdam), European University (Florence), the London Business School and the Department of Applied Economics at Cambridge.

Over the period 1996-2004 he served as Deputy Minister for the State Budget, Minister for Development and Minister of Finance. During 2002-2003 he served as acting Chairman of the Eurogroup and Minister for the Economy in the caretaker government in 2015; From 2009, Economic Advisor with the Piraeus Bank of Greece and non-executive Vice-Chairman in 2015. 

His research areas include debt dynamics, economic growth, business cycles, and dynamic systems. He has published widely, with a focus on economic crises, fiscal policy, and international markets and he continues to actively engage on his research and academic work.
