The Research Innovation Programme on Cyprus was established in 2019 with the generous support of the A.G. Leventis Foundation. The Programme’s objective is to advance the study of contemporary Cyprus in the field of the social science, to foster international research partnerships, and to develop research with direct policy relevance.
Through its annual calls, the A.G. Leventis Research Innovation Programme has supported 12 research projects covering a diverse range of topics related to Cyprus, including economics, society, the environment, and beyond. The selection process and the publication of the findings takes place through a comprehensive peer-review process by the academic staff of the Hellenic Observatory Centre and the dedicated Research Advisory Group. The research projects have resulted in numerous conference and seminar presentations and publications in international academic journals. Their research findings have been translated into policy recommendations through the programme’s Policy Briefs and disseminated to policy audiences within and outside Cyprus. The programme has thus established itself as a crucial link between the academic communities of the UK, Cyprus, and Greece, successfully fulfilling its mission to support and promote cutting-edge research
