Hellenic Observatory Research Calls Programme

Hellenic Observatory Research Calls Programme In 2018 the Hellenic Observatory launched an exciting research initiative with a fresh programme of research calls on Greece.

With generous donations, a research fund was established dedicated to innovative research on issues of contemporary academic and policy-relevant significance. We would like to record our sincere gratitude to the A.C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation (ACLCF) and Dr Vassili G. Apostolopoulos for their generosity and support in the Hellenic Observatory’s mission.

The programme invites the submission of project proposals, on an annual basis, with the purpose of developing and supporting high-quality academic and policy-related research and publications within the social sciences, on Greece.  The programme also created opportunities fostering co-operation between the relevant academic communities of Greece, the UK and beyond.

To achieve a diversity and breadth of topics and to gain from the highest level of academic support, expertise and standards a Research Advisory Group was established comprising of senior academic colleagues (LSE & non-LSE). As such, the purpose of the Research Advisory Group is to (1) suggest topical themes for the research calls, (2) to offer advice in the selection process by reviewing submitted research proposals (3) to peer review the final research reports.
