LSEE - Bank of Albania Collaboration

 The LSE and the Bank of Albania have had an academic collaboration since 2018, with the objective to foster a deeper, evidence-based understanding of financial and economic developments in Albania and the wider region of South East Europe. LSEE took on the lead of this collaboration on behalf of the LSE in 2020. Through a programme of research, knowledge exchange and policy dialogue, our collaboration focuses in the areas of monetary policy, central bank governance, banking sector development and financial market infrastructure; as well as integration with the EU and related macroeconomic and financial challenges. Our activities within this programme include an annual research policy conference in Tirana (with published proceedings), an annual lecture by the Governor of the Bank of Albania at LSE, and collaborative research between LSE academics and the research department of the Bank of Albania.
