Richard Cole received his BA in Mathematics from University College, Oxford in 1978, and his PhD in Computer Science from Cornell University in 1982. Since then he has been on the faculty of the Computer Science Department, Courant Institute, New York University. His research area is the design and analysis of algorithms. For the past 12 years or so he has been mainly working on algorithmic game theory with interests ranging from mechanism design to dynamical behaviour.
