LSE Executive Global Master’s in Management student Morten Bruun has been named in Forbes’ 30 under 30 Europe 2018 list for co-founding Penstable, a Danish start up specialising in sustainable and responsible investments that offer an alternative to pensions.

The 26-year-old student was recognised in the Finance category for his contribution to the business, which operates on a digital platform and focuses on environmentally friendly and ethical investments such those in solar power and wind energy.

The fund allows users to track the financial return on investments, as well as the positive impact their retirement savings can have on society and the environment.

Commenting on his inclusion on the list, Morten said: “It's an extremely humbling experience and I feel very honoured to be featured alongside so many talented people. While it means a lot to be recognised by Forbes, most of all it's a testament to Penstable and the truly impressive work of the entire team behind our start-up.

“Penstable was started by Niels Fibæk-Jensen, Emil Stigsgaard Fuglsang and myself, and is based on the paradox that while your retirement savings are a way to secure your future, pension funds are investing those very same savings in assets that are actively destroying our future - assets like coal, oil, tobacco, companies using child labour to just name a few. This is what we want to change.”

Fifteen LSE alumni were also included on this year’s 30 under 30 Europe list including Andrew Mitson (BSc Economics 2016) who co-founded Up Learn, an online education platform using neuroscience-informed artificial intelligence and Flore De Taisne (MSc International Relations 2013) who co-founded ISHKAR, an online marketplace for artisans based in war-torn countries.

Since 2012, Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list has recognised the brightest entrepreneurs, innovators and game-changers under the age of 30 who are transforming business as usual and changing the world.
