PhD Topic: Sustainable food consumption
PhD Supervisors: Dr Ganga Shreedhar and Dr Matteo Galizzi
Daniele is a PhD candidate in the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science. The principal aim of his research is promoting and encouraging sustainable food consumption, both in terms of changing diets and reducing food waste, with a special focus on social norms.
He is also a behavioural science consultant at the World Resources Institute (WRI), where he recently led the publication of 'The Food Service Playbook for Promoting Sustainable Food Choices' and is currently working on another project about 'Drivers and Solutions to Household Food Waste in the United States'.
A campaigner for the Green Party of England and Wales, Daniele contributed to the writing of the Food Waste Section of the Green Party of England and Wales Manifesto in the lead up to the London 2024 Mayoral Elections supporting the candidate Zoë Garbett. In the UK, he is involved in projects with the Sustainability Team at Brentford Football Club and has worked with Festival Republic (Live Nation) to reduce the carbon footprint of music festivals.
Daniele holds an MRes in Neuroeconomics from Maastricht University, and in the past worked as a research assistant at the University of Oxford (UK) and at University College Dublin (IE).
