About me

Natalie Gold is Senior Director in the Behavioural Practice at Verian, where she undertakes behavioural research and consultancy for public sector and social purpose clients. She studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and has an M.Phil and a D.Phil from the University of Oxford. She held postdocs at the University of Konstanz and Duke University, and then faculty positions at the University of Edinburgh, King’s College London, and the University of Oxford. At King’s, she was Principal Investigator on the project “Self-Control and the Person: An Inter-Disciplinary Account”, funded by the European Research Council. She has also held roles in government, including Deputy Head of Behavioural Insights at Public Health England.

Natalie's research focuses on both normative and descriptive aspects of decision making, spanning theory and its practical applications. She has published on topics including: framing, moral judgements and decision making, cooperation and coordination, collective intentionality and shared cooperative activity, effects of institutional environment on individual behaviour, trust, self-control, nudge, financial regulation; and the application of behavioural science in areas such as public health, sustainability, and combatting misinformation.
