- Decolonising Development Studies (2021). Hosted by the Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa and the Department of International Development, Dr Rosalba Icaza, Dr Yirga Gelaw Woldeyes, Dr Althea-Maria Rivas and Dr Eyob Balcha Gebremariam discuss how to redesign courses and classroom discussions.
- Decolonising African Identities (2021). As part of the LSE Africa Summit 2021, Prof. Sabelo J Ndlovu-Gatsheni and Dr. Althea-Maria Rivas discuss whether an ‘African’ identity is a colonial imposition, an innate spiritual attribute or something in-between.
- Malinowski, Decolonisation and Race (2021). Hosted by the LSE Library, a century after the publication of Argonauts of the Western Pacific, a panel recontextualises Malinowski in the context of colonialism.
- For a Reparatory Social Science (2021). A collaboration of the Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity and the International Inequalities Institute, Professor Gurminder K. Bhambra and Dr Armine Ishkanian explore the social sciences’ failure to acknowledge the extent to which modern nation-states were bound up with relations of colonial extraction.
- Exploring Academic Resistance to Decolonising the History Curriculum (2020). Led by Danielle Chavrimootoo, the webinar focused on a recent study undertaken to explore the barriers and academic resistance towards attempts to decolonise the undergraduate history curriculum at one institution.
