Costanza Torre is a PhD Candidate at the LSE Department for International Development.
Her research employs ethnographic methods to investigate mental health and psychosocial humanitarian interventions in a refugee settlement in northern Uganda. She is especially interested in issues of mental health interventions in complex emergencies, forced migration, post-conflict reconstruction, and local conceptions of health and healing.
Prior to her PhD, she worked with JSRP in northern Uganda while conducting research for her MSc, and has worked as an external consultant on psychosocial humanitarian aid.
Costanza holds a BA and an MSc in Clinical Psychology from the University of Turin, Italy, as well as an MRes in Development Studies from LSE.
