Oluwasola Omoju is an Economist and Senior Research Fellow at the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), where he provides research and technical support to the Nigerian parliament. He has experience working on energy and climate policy, public financial management, Africa trade policy, macroeconomic (CGE) modeling and applied development economics. He has led several high-impact projects. He worked with the European Investment Bank and the Global Development Network to assess the potential impacts of the Africa Energy Guarantee Facility in inducing private finance for clean energy projects in Africa, and on a Partnership for Economic Policy’s project on the Nigerian National Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Policy. In the area of trade, he worked with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa on Digital Trade Regulatory Integration in Africa and “Greening” the AfCFTA’s Digital Trade Protocol. His current research interests lie at the intersection of climate and trade policies, with reference to Africa. He was part of the LSE-Africa Climate Foundation team that assessed the economic and trade impacts of the EU’s CBAM on Africa. Oluwasola holds a doctorate degree in Applied (Energy) Economics from Xiamen University, China.
