Amtu Akumfi-Ameyaw
Programme: MSc Gender, Development and Globalisation
Amatus-Sabooh Wahab Akumfi-Ameyaw, also identified as Amtu Akumfi-Ameyaw, studied Political Science and French at the University of Ghana and is currently studying MSc Gender, Development and Globalisation at LSE. On campus, She doubles as co-president of the PfAL 13 cohort.
She has an avid interest in youth and women’s participation in leadership and politics and her passion is fueled by over 10 years of national and international experience in student leadership and activism, empowerment, youth development work, volunteerism and entrepreneurship.
Before starting her MSc, she was with the United Nations Population Fund Youth Leaders fellowship assigned to the gender unit where she was responsible for programme design, coordination and facilitation of youth, men and boys engagement on women empowerment, gender transformation, gender mainstreaming and equality.
