The journal is published on behalf of the Department of Economics at LSE by Wiley. It is widely read, being available in nearly 10,000 institutions worldwide.
Established in 1921, it was formerly edited by Frank Cowell (Managing Editor), Lena Edlund, Gianluca Benigno, Peter Norman Sørensen, and Amos Witztum (Book Reviews).
In July 2015, it was announced that Economica would be re-launched with a new team of editors from January 2016.
The Chair of the Board of Economica is the Head of Department of Economics and the Professors of Economics at LSE are the journal board.

There is no submission fee and the journal does not require the use of JEL codes.

Economica turned 100 in 2021.
Our aim to commemorate this is to publish 100 papers by former LSE Department of Economics students, and current and former faculty.
The Economica Centenary Conference launched this process and the papers from the conference, which will appear in the journal, will be part of the 100 we intend to publish.
