Tommaso's research investigates the influence of political factors on the level of market competition in a country. In particular, he compares the recent rise in market concentration observed in the US with European trends. The objective is explaining these different outcomes between Europe and the US through the role of political connections of corporations and the degree of independence of competition authorities.
