Raluca L. Pahontu is Fellow in European and International Politics and Policy. She earned her DPhil in Political Science from Nuffield College, University of Oxford in 2020. Previously, she earned a MPhil Politics (Comparative Government) from Nuffield College, University of Oxford and a BA Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Essex.
Raluca L. Pahontu is a political economist working on issues related to risk and insurance, inequality, distributional conflict and voting behaviour in Europe and the United States in the post-war period. Her work uses administrative, historical and public opinion data to capture individuals’ experiences, and, relying on experiments or quasi-experiments, identifies their impact on voters’ economic and political behaviour.
