Louise is a student in Economic Geography, working on the impact of climate change on urbanization and local markets in developing countries. Her work focuses on how informal networks shape migration, labour and housing decisions. Louise’s research is funded by an Economic and Social Research Council PhD Scholarship.
Prior to joining the PhD programme in the department of Geography and Environment, Louise worked as a research assistant at Oxford University in the department of Economics. She co-authored a working paper on a city general equilibrium model, focusing on the impact of transportation infrastructures in Kampala. During her PhD, Louise has worked as an occasional research assistant at the EUDEMOS Project, the Centre for Economic Performance and the Grantham Research Institute. She has experience in data cleaning and analysis in STATA, MatLab, ArcGIS, R and Python.
Louise completed an MSc in Real Estate, Economics and Finance with distinction and a Master in Public Administration at LSE. She also has a Diploma in Political Science from Sciences Po and did a visiting year at Tsinghua University China, where she focused on economics and urban planning.
